East Tennessee State University Office of TRIO Programs announces the following administrative position vacancies. Salary is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and salary range as stated in grant. Educational Talent Search Advisor--Level 6 - ETSU at Kingsport
Characteristics of position: The full-time, 10-month position is under immediate supervision of the assistant director, the advisor will perform the following duties: plan, design, coordinate and implement educational programs for Educational Talent Search participants in accordance with the grant proposal; recruit participants; conduct bi-monthly school visitations to 9-12 target middle/high schools in Hawkins, Johnson, and Sullivan County; provide academic, career, financial aid and postsecondary education advisement to participants. The position includes extensive travel and time spent at the target schools. Applicants must be willing to work an extended schedule that includes: providing workshops/seminars in the evenings and weekends. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred); experience in the delivery of services in an educational outreach program preferred; experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds preferred; TRIO work experience preferred. Candidates must exhibit training, sensitivity and commitment to the needs of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
