Dear Trio Family,

Our joint Trio Conference is fast approaching! We are very excited and looking forward to having you and your program(s) joining us in Gatlinburg October 10-12, 2012. We just want to share a few things with you before the conference.

Conference Overview

This year we are offering aPreCon Workshop - Technology. This workshop is being offered for only $50 and we believe

you will it to be a very helpful resource for your program(s). We open with an inspirational speaker, Marc Burnett, Vice

President, Tennessee Technology University, and we have:

-Cloggers who will also teach us a step or two

-A Surprise Luncheon Speaker

-Great discounts at local restaurants and attractions (need only show Conference ID)

-Vendors never before seen at a TASP/KAEOPP conference (bring a little spending money)

-Karaoke competition in our Networking room along with our very own DJ

-A Storyteller

-TRiO Updates from D.C.

-Silent Auction

-An early morning Zumba Workout

-Program Round Tables

-A full slate of great sessions chosen specifically to meet the needs of today’s Trio programs, and more!

We have what we believe will be “the best” conference to date – professional development, current information and

energizing exercises to better prepare us for serving Trio students (please see tentative conference agenda).

Silent Auction

Each year Trio programs are asked to bring a basket for a silent auction; therefore, we ask you to please secure a nice

item (value $25-$50) for the auction. Projects are encouraged to be creative in assembling their “basket” by selecting

eclectic items or an interesting theme, e.g. Kitchen Gadget Basket, Movie Night, or Country Christmas. In advance, we

appreciate your participation in this fundraising effort.

Hospitality/TRiO Networking

Each project is asked to bring a snack and/or beverage item to the Networking Room.

Conference information is available online (www.tasptrio.org or www.kaeopp.org) and you can also make hotel

reservations online (www.parkvista.com) or call 1-800-421-7275, reservation code: OPP. The deadline for hotel

reservations at the conference rate is September 8, 2012. We cannot guarantee that rooms or the conference rate will

be available after this date, so please make your reservations today!
